It's nice to have found this forum. I enjoy killing time at lunch reading the various posts. I am curious about water temps at the MG's. After some of you return from the MG's this weekend, I'd appreciate any info on water temps. Current surface temps and botom temps. Also, to the experienced MG divers, how long into the winter do you typically dive before it gets to cold?????? Speaking of COLD, I'm going to Buffalo for the weekend to do a little steelhead and salmon fishing returning on Monday. Thanks for any info.

HB, Welcome aboard. The temps in the winter get cold, but not as cold as other areas that are shallower. We dive yr round thanks to hot water filled suits. I can't stand putting on a cold suit. I think the coldest I've dove was about 64. On the JRII the hot water from the shower is a savior before and after the dive. Don't even think about diving w/o a hood!

Average water temps are between 65-68 on the coldest days. Spear One or D4B can maybe add to this.
