This tournament ran very smoothly, imho.
There will always be small problem and issues to resolve, but Scott and his family did a great job of making sure everything was taken care of and that everyone had a great time.
Thanks to all of the volunteers, many of which showed up at before 8am to get parking taken care of, get the weigh-in line set up, etc.
FA and Chris Hill did an awesome job at the weigh in line! By 11:45 every fish was weighed - that is incredible!!!!
Congrats to Sheri Daye for winning the overall tournament, and to Team Headhunter for bringing home the "Best Boat" category!
The weather was not great, the fish were not plentiful, but everyone made it back safe and sound, and there were prizes for everyone!!!
Scott, you put on one hell of a tournament and from what I hear it just keeps getting better. At this rate, next year should be a BREEZE!!!! :D

I second the comments. The logistics of an event like this are daunting, to say the least. It ran like clockwork. Just a fabulous, fabulous job.

My sincere thanks to Scott, his wife and all the volunteers that put on this fantastic tournament, I can’t imagine the overall logistics involved in putting on such an incredible event. I would also like to congratulate all who participated, regardless of the outcome, each participant put their all into this competition and that is what made this event so great to be a part of.
Scott, I have drained my pool and am currently spraying the walls with a light coat of vermouth. The tanker of your favorite gin is on the way, and my wife is in search of the 100lb olive. Clear your schedule for a couple of days. All phones have been removed and cell phones and lap tops will be disposed of in a wood chipper upon arrival

Rogers on that! Scott, Kim, and a dedicated group of volunteers made this event look easy. However, those of us who have been involved in producing events like the 2005 SBO, the SOD, and the SPO.........it is anything but easy.
For over 35 years, the Fla. west coast spearfishing community has been blessed with dedicated folks who volunteered thousands of hours of blood, sweat, and tears to produce these open tournaments. These tournaments help us bulid the brotherhood and tradition of our great sport.
In just 3 years, Scott and Kim have turned a "little tournament" into a major spearfishing event. I hope everyone out there understands how lucky the spearfishing community is to have them. Their dedication and committment is humbling.
We had a great time this year and really enjoyed meeting & talking with everyone. We especially like getting all the positive feedback from the folks who use our products. Except for the "less than perfect" weather, the entire SBO experience was incredible.
Please spread the word about the upcoming spearfishing tournaments...........the Hell Divers Rodeo, Southern Open Derby and the St. Pete Open.

Sott, Kim and all of the hard working volunteers-
Thanks for everything. Each year you have managed to put on an awesome spearfishing tournament. And each year you have made a great tourney even better.
This was your best so far. The expo format and the open pavillion made for great socializing. What a great day Sunday was.
Thanks again, all.

I can't beleive how quickly the actual weigh-in went. We had a great time. The beer was cold, the food was good, and the prize table was loaded.

I can't believe how evenly people showed up to weigh their fish. Traffic in the circle moved in and out quickly. There was little or no wait all morning. Financial Advisor didn't even lose his voice yelling: "Grouper, snapper, hogfish, triggers, jacks - in that order! Give me your biggest fish first! No zip ties!"

Yeah, unlike last year I don't still have Hudgen's voice ringing in my head at work on the following Monday! The weigh in line setup this year worked awesome!

I couldn't believe how quick the weigh-in line was.....great job done by all of those who were working it!! It was a great tournament.....thanks to all who helped in making it successful. Prize table was incredible......one of our guys went home with a new BC so he was stoked.
Was the gear that went missing at the end ever returned?? Hope so.
It was great seeing and BS'ing with everyone again, looking forward to the next event!

What a great event and well executed. A huge thanks to Kim, Zack, Scott and all the volunteers for their time and effort. What a great group of sponsors and I'm sure that these folks will be back next year. Keep the sponsors in mind and give them a big thank you when you see them.
Most importantly, it was great to see everyone at the weighin and that everyone made it back safely!
We'll do it again soon for the Southern Open and the St. Pete Open!

Way to go Scott. My family and I had an excellent time and it ran so smoothly. I could not believe the time I got out of there and the time I stood in line for the weigh in. It was like a machine. Nice job!
