P.S.: This is not a "cut/paste" from the spreadsheet. I copied it over by hand. Therefore, there may be an error or two, where I missed a number, etc. The spreadsheet did not allow the cut/paste for some reason. I am sure I could have figured it out, but when I pasted it was just a formula, not the number.

Congrats to all that made the Top 100, as well as all of you who got out and competed - regardless of what place you finished in!
Here is a running list of the Top 10 prizes: (please fill in the blanks!)
1 Sheri Daye - Zeagle Custom BC
2 Jerry Lancaster - Riffe Mid-Handle Speargun
3 Harolf Dean - Freediving Computer (?)
4 Rich Taylor - 2 tickets to the Pepsi 400 in Daytona (Courtesy of Billy Howell Ford)
5 Dan McMahon - Zeagle Regulator
6 Richie Zacker - Zeagle Regulator
7 Kenny Lacasse - Zeagle Regulator
8 Steve Zelenka - Pony Bottle Mount Kit
9 Steve Simkins - Zeagle Backplate and Wing
10 Dan Addison - Riffe Std #3 Speargun
I also noticed that out of the top 17 places, 8 of them were the 8 guys who dove on the Headhunter. That is one hell of an accomplishment in itself, imho...

I took the two Nascar tickets to the Pepsi 400 in Daytona courtesy of Billy Howell and Ford Motor Co. $200 bucks each! Thanks Billy! :)
I would have taken one of those sweeet Zeagle regulators but I just replaced my old regulator with a new Zeagle Flathead VI and I knew that the new one is built so well it will last me the rest of my life. ;)

I think GR grabbed a Zeagle BC for me also. I didn't hear much from him, I think he's still sleeping after the drive.
Scott, Do you have the break down on the freedivers. I'd like to see I finished there.
Thanks again,
Rick Gage

Rick,
I can do that. I'll get that up.
By the way, in the 2004 Spearboard Open, 166 people went through the weigh-in line. This year, 190 weighed fish, so about 50 who registered did not weigh. I point that out because I have heard from several people who think fewer people weighed this year (probably because how small the lines stayed). Not true....it was actually 24 more people who weighed this year. BIG UPs to CHRIS HUDGENS.....you da man!!
Great to read the feedback and to see people express their appreciation to sponsors.

Scott,
As you know, but maybe others do not realize, with 2 weigh in lines and 2 fish per category, the lines went quicker than last year, plus people started weighing fish sooner.

Freedivers:
Dean, Harolf --- 104.3
Gage, Rick --- 87
Diaz, Manny --- 85
Soler, Octavio --- 80.1
Tarr, G.R. --- 54.4
Guerra, Jerry --- 47.2
Karcher, Noel --- 37.8
Junktunen, Hank --- 20.3
Decker, Gray --- 7.9
Rick, that is a HELL of a job shooting 87 while freediving.
And as for Harolf, got to say how impressive that is to finish in third place for the tournament, first place as freediving, AND shoot the biggest grouper of the tournament. Outstanding Harolf!

Rick,
I saw GR pick up the Zeagle Stiletto BC I donated... so it must be yours.
If you dive scuba also, then you're like us, many of us switch hit.
Congratulations on your strong finish!

that prize table was rockin! i had 23.9 points and still walked with a sea vision ultra. i know fizition got a dive trip to panama and he finished 35th!
if only it was calm i would've been out to the grounds and scored at least a 33.9.

hell i was picking for Johnnylongblades from the keys, as well as myself.
i picked up a bag of amber band material from SS and when my 11.2Lbs was called i was stunned to see a SeaVision mask still up for grabs.
i snagged that.
ended up giving it to Johnny since he scored better and it was something he needed more than me, besides i needed the band material as well...so it worked out.
i talked to some one who didn't weigh fish because they didn't think it was worth it. they figured all the prizes would be gone.
he felt really bad after we told him that guys who shot NO FISH were still getting prizes!
awesome prize table scott and sponsors
thanks

Yes, Chad I do both. I would much rather freedive but, it's all good. Spearing is spearing and any time I get a chance to go I'm happy just to be in the ocean.
As the saying goes, "Thanks but no tanks - I'd rather freedive."

11th Place, I chose a 54" Rhino Commercial. Thanks again to Kevin for the support.
This Rhino will replace my Old Sea Hornet that a Jew fish tore up. She still shoots though.

You will be more than pleased with your choice. Not that there is anything wrong with your old hornets but the comercial gun's increased accuracy is way beyond "noticable". Plus, you should notice a range increase over your 48".

I didn't know if you were one of the top 10 spots I was trying to fill in, that is why I asked - it had nothing to do with Zeagle vs Dive Rite or anything like that! Never the less, we appreciate your business!! :)
Next year, I will make a serious effort to list every person and the prize they chose. This year, Zeagle came out looking good, but next year it could easily be someone else!!! It is nice, as a sponsor, to know where your products were taken, and by whom.
Hopefully next year we will have that Zeagle Computer on the prize table!! :D
Edited to add: Rob, don't make us come up there and beat you!!

Yes, by custom order. They are quite popular. I have one that I won at the 2003 SPO.

I took the Riffe #3 as my pick. As a dedicated Spearfishing Specialties Commercial gun user, you know the saying about prying my cold stiff fingers from around it....I subscribe to that 100%. I have second commercial Rhino that just sits there waiting for that fretful day that I need a replacement. I really wanted a nice freediving gun and I've seen the Riffe in action.
I plan to send a thank you to Jay and Julie for supporting the event and to say how excited I have to have won their product. If you have time, send a PM or an email to the manufactures of the prizes you selected. It will really boost their incentive to support us next year.
Sure was good to see everyone and to hang with some good friends! That's what it's all about!
Shooter Dan Out!
Any idea where Dean shot his 57.2 Pound grouper freediving?

RJ, When talking with them, I believe they told me they were near American Shoals? They had started toward the Marquesas and found dirty water and then turned and headed the other way until they found clean water. It was a sweet fish!
