looking to find

Hi: I'm looking to find buddies that spearfish in southern california. I live in Marina del Rey. Although i'm an experienced basic scuba diver, I have little experience in spearfishing. Are there person/s that beach dive to do this sport or from boat/s? If anyone is willing to take along a newbie, I would be very interested in learning. Any input whatsover would be appreciated.
