NOAA Forecast called for less than 2', 2 - 3, then 2 - 4, then 3 - 5, then back to 2 - 3, which was fairly close.
Two locals jumped on board for a day on the water. Made our way out to some nice looking hard bottom/small ledges in 85'. Surface temps of 83 gave way to a HUGE snot layer/thermocline that dropped the temp 3-4 degrees and opened up bottom visibility to 50 - 60 foot. No huge grouper, but managed to bag these two on one dive. Summer in the Carolinas - no wetsuit needed...makes gear cleanup much easier.
Made the move toward the hill in hopes of some nearer shore flounder, but none were to be found.
In case anyone up here catches/spears a 5 - 6 foot barracuda with a .357 powerhead lodged in it's head, can you dig it out and send it to me in the mail? :D
