The new Simply Scuba!

Friday I stopped in to see Gary Hulbut, one of the new owners of Simply Scuba. He's also the shop's instructor, and said that he's implemented many new changes... most notably the new store hours:

Mon - Fri 10 am to 7 pm
Sat 9 am to 7 pm
Sun 9 am to 1 pm

They were busy as heck for a Friday afternoon!

Here's some photos of Scott and Tara Maurano, who also work with Gary, and the store's ample Zeagle inventory. (Gary said he was pretty low actually!)

Stop in and see them when you need some new gear, or just to say hello!

Gary promises to take the store to new levels of quality service, and keep Rich Water's "meet the price" policy!

Gary has been working the shop for years, I here alot of good stuff about upcoming events. The luau was a huge sucess. They have put together a great new team of people care for all your needs.
Back to fish....Gary working hard while I got this 22# MG hog last week, Thanks Gary and all the best.

I just wanted to take a moment to say "THANKS" to those of you who have been in the shop and given us your business ! I've had alot of Spearboard hunters in the shop and I hope you have all been happy with your expierences. Rich &Cheryl set me up (Thanks RICH & CHERYL) with a Killer client base and I am looking forward to meeting the needs of everyone. Gary: It wasn't me. I must have an imposter! I am going to try to stop by today, though. I was a Pasco County Fire Rescue Paramedic/FF from 1984 - 1989. It is a great job with a schedule that allows another profession.... like running a dive shop. I went through college on a full time schedule while working by doing swap time! Not many jobs where you can both work full time, and go to school full time.

Im looking forward to meeting you (THE REAL YOU) and picking your brain a bit. Im currently a FF/PM with East Lake Fire-Rescue in Pinellas County. I love the new life I'm finding as the "SHOP OWNER". I've been around the block a few times but I'm learning alot about things I thought I knew.

We've had a very successful first month inspite of the lack of diving. Spearboard members have been a big part of our sucess and I encourage everyone to drop me a line with comments or even gear sugestions.

Hi Gary, I'm the other Sarasota County Paramedic/Firefighter/Diver/Spearfisherman. Been doing it for 20 years. I'm way down in Sarasota, but get up that way sometimes and will stop in. I was in the Keys for Sportsmans lobster and the first week of regular lobster and did lots of spearfishing, along with my girlfriend Lynn who is a spearfisher also. I met a guy in the Keys who works and lives in Hudson, who dives, and he is a Pasco County Fire Lieutenant. His name is Mark. Drives a Red Dodge pick-up. Has a 19 foot white boat. Thats all I got. His girlfriends name is Marie if that helps. Anyway, good luck and hope to see you someday. Steve.
