I'm back in San Diego after being on the east coast for the last 14 years. Looking for a new dive buddy in the San Diego area. Here's my profile:

48 years old
Male
White Catholic
Born and raised in San Diego
BS Aeronautics (San Jose State) 1985
Married 25 years (to the same gal)
3 teenagers (2 away in college)
Scuba Certified in 1974 (San Diego Divers Supply)
Dives: Never had a log book, maybe 500 or so
Boat: Zodiac F470 (16 ft) with Johnson 55 two stroke on trailer
Marine Interests: Spearfishing, lobstering, scalloping, abalone (well....). Trips to Baja, fishing, and just about anything else on the water.
I'm not a tree hugger and don't want a buddy who is. That doesn't mean I pollute the earth but catch and release is not part of my vocabulary.
Diving experience: I've dove all over San Diego, San Clemente Island, Hawaii, Cozumel, Bahamas, Baja (Ensenada area as well as LA Bay), Lake Tahoe, Monterey, South Florida, Florida Keys, Tampa area, and Grand Cayman.

What I'm looking for in a dive buddy:

Male
Age 25-75
dependable
punctual
adventurous
experienced diver
San Diego resident

Yeah, nice boat! How do you keep the shafts from poking the rails?

I think it is pretty easy not to let it hit. I will trade you my kayak for it :D!!!

I don't know two or three divers with two to three guns all with nice shiny sharp tips? Gee I can't go a weekend on a normal boat without poking someone or a t-top.

It isn't that difficult to pay attention with where the muzzle of your gun is pointed, so you don't have that problem.

I always tell the guys I am diving with to hand the gun butt end first, that way the guy on the boat doesn't get poked with the tip, some guys have a hard time understanding this, so if they continue to hand it up to the boat tip first, I just quit helping them with it, and if it continues on my boat, they do not get an invite to go out again.

Another rule on my boat is, if you are stupid enough to put a hole in my T Top, you get to pay to repair the damage you caused.

I have dove off of inflatables before, and we never had a problem with putting holes in it, you would be surprised how tough they are.

With my inflatable, I put the gun into the boat with the tip facing outward/hanging over the bow. When I get in, I put the tip protector on it. Seems pretty easy.

Shit I can't keep my tip from hitting the t-top on Speedy's boat, never mind an inflatable.

Gary -move to S.E. Florida you won't have to worry about GW. I'll freedive with you!
