I have not done any Tech. dives since I was in dive school 10 years ago. Back then when we used trimix and different EAN gas mixes for each stage, we used these complicated dive tables and formulas and not computers.

Strictly out of curiosity, and I do not intend on doing any tech dives anytime in the near future.
I was wondering if these days if there are computers that automatically calculate your PO2 load and Nitrogen accumulation at these depths and various mixes for you or are you guys still depend on these complicated formulas?

there are some computers that do that .but what I use is a uwatec digital bottom timerand either tables or a computer program to do the calculating .I have a computer I use when spearfishing though so I dont have to worry about that.but my computer isnt designed for deco diving even though it would give deco stops if I went that long .Anyway I wouldnt trust it to do any major calculating.so when I plan deco dives I just use a bottom timer with tables written on a slate.

Ditto Joens.....Deeper diving and mix require a little more discipline than just strapping on the appropriate gear and jumping in.There are several multi-gas computers available, they run from $750 each on up.Vplan is free,Uwatec BT was $100,Wetnotes $15.I don't know about any complicated tables ,but IANTD makes some cool waterproof ones however they take forever to deco you.
