Whats this fish?

Does anyone know what kind of fish this is? I think it's a sargo, but it also looks like a rubberliped surf perch. It tasted good either way :thumps:

I also say surf perch...I am almost positive sargo's stripes are on their back.

Yup, that ol' rubberlips. There's some variation in color around these parts.

Rubberlipped surf perch.
We used to shoot tons of 'em in the old competitive spearfishing days.

Rubber Lip I bring a couple home when I can, I have never eaten them but my FOB nextdoor neighbor from Tiawan loves them and say's they taste like crab. But then again when I bring home halibut, calico or anything else I fillet his wife always want's the head.
