Sorry guys...trying to get my post count up. Shot these two diving with Slay Ride and Charlestondiving last weekend.

My first of each species.

Great first fish period, especially first your first, but you were diving with a great group of guys.

This is true. Rob and Les have been extremely helpful (and patient) with me and a few other beginner divers in our area. D4B, Kitefisherman, and Bucket were also extremely helpful two weeks ago answering all my rookie questions and sharing some of their experiences.

I have a tendancy (as you can see in the pictures) of shooting fish in the face. One day, maybe I'll actually kill one with my spear and Rob won't have to come in and stringer the fish for me (story for another time :D ).

I have seen alot worse shots! You should be proud, wait till you think you have stoned a fairly large fish, then when you go to stringer them, they miraculously jump back to life and beat the hell out of ya with the shaft!

hey Greg , Greg in Atlanta here . Those are great fish regardles of you're diving experience. If you can get to atlanta you can ride with me for a middle grounds trip .Might be fun to try another ocean !! I would luv to get on Les's boat one day . Note : I'm going to the new Ga .aquarium tomorrow , will I get in trouble for taking my gun ?!

Ascot, I used to live in Texas and I beleive I'm on the "to watch list" at Sea World in San Antonio. I fish out of Orange Beach, AL a lot. I've been told there's not much to dive there but artificial reefs and wrecks. I think you have to go West to dive the rigs off Ft. Morgan and East to find any live bottom.

I'd like to try and do one of those Middle Grounds trips, but may want to wait a season or two until I'm ready.
