Your choices of dive shops are very limited here in Ft. pierce to say the least, that is there is only one. That one is not a bad shop though, it's a small shop at the foot of the south bridge called the dive odysea. I know that a pretty lady named Crista owns it, and she is very helpfull (except during lobster season), but this is understandable due to the lack of other stores and the groves of weekend wariors that desend upon us. She runs the store 24hrs. a day for the whole mini-season, including contest. You don't even wont to be near the place during this lobster orgy. Reastraunts? There is this pretty cool little place called Cris's huricane bar and grill all the way down to the south jetty, they have the best chicken wings. There other stuff is great too. Sometimes they get packed but it's worth the wait, make sure one of the waitress writes your name on the board. If I knew where you where staying I could tell you more. I don't want to send you all the way across town for just a sandwich.

Thanx otter,I don't mind driving. When we stay in the Keys I have driven from Little Torch to almost Key Largo to eat Italian food at Anthonys and we regularly would dip down to Key West to eat at Latitudes,Cafe Sole and The Rooftop.I've talked to Odysea, they seemed nice .What kind of vis is normal out to 130' or so?

100Days a- year in that case if your familiar with the area, Jensen Beach which is about 10 miles to the south has an apuntant choice of quality reastraunts including my personal favorite Crawdaddy's. Go down Indian river drive to Jensen Blvd. turn right go one football field west until you see the big fake Crawdad to your right. Best creole food east of New Orleans. It gets packed on the weekends but is well worth the wait. Great service, full liquir bar, cheap prices. Make sure you go Indian River drive that way you eliminate the traffic lights and the drive is pretty cool. In Ft. pierce the vis depends on the rainfall, here we are one of the major release points for releasing water from Okeechobee and outlying farms and ranches into the ocean. We have had alot of rain in the last few days but we are still considered dry so I think as long as it does not rain like hell you will be fine. Out to 130 its hard to get really bad vis, even on bad days out that far its 20ft. on the bottom. I really have a good feeling about this summer, yesterday when I went to the beach even the inlet was pretty blue water. Lets just hope we get nice even amounts of rain the rest of the year and no major storms, and as the late great poet, singer, songwriter, Bob Marley said every little ting be alright mon.
