Getting ready to buy a Riffe midhandle Hawaiian (50 inch) to use on GOM rigs. Other than the obcene price (~$550.00 new) would anybody like to argue against this gun. Safe Hunting!

Only thing I would argue IS the price....just way too high for the average shooter.

DF did you get my return instant message regarding my Riffe? Wasn't sure if I did it right.

So, how do you like it? The Riffe that is...

It's my understanding that you have to use a lineshaft with a Riffe. Does anyone know if that is true? If it is, I'd consider it a big shortcoming. Fantastic guns otherwise.
But if you're ready to spend that much dough, you could get a sweet Rhino.

Gator...can the sales pitch,I'm trying to sell my Riffe!:D Larry I do like my Riffe, but I need a bigger gun. Mine is a 48" C2X. Mostly a Riffe is used with a line but they sell the clip to convert it to free shaft or some I've talked to have rigged their own. They are very light and manuverable. Sweet guns for sure. I've got it up for sale @ 300.00 with extra shaft and I just put a new line on it. Plus have a few new bands I'll throw in.

Dlock,

but I am stuck on the midhandle. I understand it is easier to load and swing onto a target.

cool, the mid handles are nice. Mine is a "Competition model",the handle is not right at the end but up about 4 or 5 inches. It helps but not like the mid handle.

In that case, you can't go wrong with a Riffe, especially if it's the one Dlock's selling!! :D

Larry sonsider your size too. A 55" gun is to big for me load quickly, with 5/8" bands it was impossible! I'm not a weakling and under 5'8" tall. I have a 42" mid-handle metal-tech that I can reload in less then a minute and of course is very manueverable(sp). Range is almost 17 feet and with 3 bands on a 9/32 shaft it doesn't drop at all. I don't freeshaft. Of course a 55 hawaiian will have a range of about 27 feet and is more suited to bluewater fishing.

I got your IM....sounds like a great deal. I was looking at the Biller 48" for $200. The Riffe w/ a spare shaft at $300 is a great price.

Not to mention the extra bands and new line:D Plus the Riffe is teak and the Biller is not;)when you're ready I could meet you on I-4 somewhere and you could check it out and if you like it ......it's yours!!!!!!
