Key West Fish Are Dying

We were freediving 40-70 feet on some nice reef. It was one of my better days in the keys. Does anyone know how to predict the vis in the keys or is it just hit or miss?

I am not familiar with the keys very well but I can tell you that on the east coast the best is a steady easterly for a few days and an incoming tide. westerly mucks it all up so does the outgoing.
