Dear fellow fishermen, surfers, divers and freedivers:
I want to let you know that this afternoon I am heading back to the Pacific coast of Panama to officially start the Spearfishing season at the Morro Negrito surf camp. A fellow spearboarder and I am meeting up with the legendary Dic Roper
( http://www.freediver.net/freedivelist/stories/5star.htm ) as a VIP guest to the surf camp. His presence, together with the tribal knowledge from the local Panamenians and a brand new fishfinder / GPS, should lead to an excellent inagural trip!
So I am writing this because I am promoting the surf camp as a Winter destination for Spearfishermen of all levels. From November to April of each year, the dry season kicks in and the ocean water gets crystal clear while the waves get smaller. This equals less surfers and thus more free boats for spearfishing. While there, one can shoot right in front of the camp, at the rivermouths, in tropical shallow reefs, or go out for some bluewater spearing with the big dogs are at. Please note though, it is all freediving (if you can go down 10 feet, you will shoot tons of fish!). So basically, any level of spearo can have fun here. And the good news is that this package is made for the budget travelers: a plane ticket plus $750 will get you a week in Panama, including transportation from the airport, hotel in Panama City, lodging at the camp, 3 meals a day and use of the pangas (18 feet, twin Honda engines and fishfinder). Fishing and surfing are also possible, and girlfrriends & wives are also welcome. :)
I am trying to keep this short, so for more info you can visit: www.panamaspearfishing.com
Please let me know if you are interested, or pass this on to anyone who might be. Any questions? My email is: DISKSKO@HOTMAIL.COM
I will be gone for a week. I hope to send you all some sick pics once we get back!
Best Wishes,
~Ben.
