This could have been SO avoided. I've had a lot of sharks come up out of curiosity; all it takes is a bump on the nose to get them off of you. My number one rule is to always have a "stick" in the water. The "stick" could be a 3-prong, your spear, an unloaded speargun... anything to maintain your personal space when a shark is aroung.
Unfortunately, this guy used his arm as his "stick."

Just gotta remember, we're in their world when we enter the water. If they want a taste, they're going to get a taste. It's one of those risks we have to accept when we dive. I sure am glat we're not as tasty as those Monk Seals!
