Planes, Bahamas, and PPD

I was just wondering if anyone uses Odor's PPD on slings? If so, what are the rules or laws carrying bullets onto an airplane or into the bahama's? Anybody been there, done that?

I can't speak about carrying bullets into the Bahamas via plane because I have never done that. I do know that if you are going in by boat, it is legal to carry firearms and ammunition into the Bahamas. When you check in you need to declare each firearm, give its type, model, & serial number, and the number of rounds you have for each weapon. You are allowed to keep the firearms on your boat and it is not a problem.

im pretty sure that you should not declare a powerhead seeing as in some places like walkers sharks are protected

YOU DO NOT CARRY AMO OR WEAPONS ONTO A PLANE, PERIOD. You CAN put them into checked luggage, but you Must fill out the paper work and declare them. Then they will decide if you can bring them into that country,

Maybe it's just me, but I never take firearms into a foreign country without declaring them, even a bangstick. The problem is that if you get caught, small as the chance might be, then all bets are off as far as you having any "rights" at all. It is taken extremely seriously.

Remember, in the Bahamas you won't have a spear gun. A good, strong pole spear is really all you need if you have an over friendly shark. I used to carry a PPD there many years ago. I stopped doing so because each time I really needed it, I never saw the shark coming and it was all over before I could get it out, put it on the tip, and use it. The pole spear worked well.

Wouldnt that be the case in the gulf or anywhere else? Would a PPD be as effective on a sling? Anyone have any expererence (sp?)? Its hard to find anything concrete as far as the bahamian law is concerned, or at least for me it has been. I just though maybe someone on the board would know.

No powerheads allowed in the Bahamas. Period.
Personally, I would rather have a stout pole spear when the typical reef shark approaches, than a powerhead because by the time you realize you are in trouble it may be too late to put the PH on the spear.
I wouldn't trust the PH on a sling...
