I am talking to them about making some spare shaft holders for tube guns as well as kill spikes for tube guns.

Buy one of Ray Odors pole spears, and save your money.
I can't believe anyone would pay that much for a polespear.

Titanium:
Those pole spears look very similar to the ones I use. I have to admit mine are aluminum tube instead of titanium, but the diameter and other features are the same.
I sent the guy an E. Mail asking for the length of the poles. Maybe I missed it, but I dodn't see that information anywhere.
$450 is a bit steep for a pole spear, even for a fanatic like me.

250$ for an Aluminum polespear.. ouch! That's brutal. A Ti polespear would be nice, but polespears are lost too often (around me anyway) to justify any polespear over 80$.

That thing would have to come with it's own virgin supermodel hooker for me to pay that much.

Just received a reply from the folks who make the Titanium pole spear. The overall length is 6 feet. I am surprised. I really do think that 6 feet is WAY too short for hunting big fish on a regular basis. I am not saying you can't get some, but you can be much more successful if you have a longer pole.
That's $75 a foot for a stubbie.

That is what I figured.
If you want a good pole spear buy one from Ray Odor, the tour and his stories are worth more than what the pole spear costs.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a 9 foot version of his titanium pole spear. It might avoid some of the times I end up bending the pole on large fish, but for that price I will just bend my pole spears back into shape.

Screw Ti, graphite is so much better for pole spears. It doesn't get bent! What a concept!
I'd bet a Kawabunga hybrid pole spear would knock the socks of the Ti spear. And it's a quarter of the price.

Very interesting. I have never seen one over on this coast. Are they new or have they been around for a while?

All graphite have been around for quite awhile in Hawaii. The hapa (rear half enclosed in an aluminum sleeve) graphite ones are relatively new. They rule. Nothing better.

can you crack a graphite polespear? i know graphite fishing rods crack easily once you get a nick in them, are polespears the same?

All the graphite pole spears I’ve seen and used are solid. I have a two-piece Sea Horse that is 10 years old and have had no problems with it.
