this is a california halibut. They can get pretty big but not as big as the ones up in Alaska. I'd guess this one to be about 30-40lbs. This was the first one I have ever seen and havent seen one since. They like to hangout in the nature perserves for some reason:confused:

look closely it looks like it has a couple of sabiki's stuck to it's back! man what the hell has this fish been through? it's been traumatised horribly by those damn line fisherman. Refuge or not the only humane thing to do is to take it upon yourself to hunt down that flattie and put it out of it's misery via 60"spring steel:D

Believe me, I was kicking my own ass for not being able to spear it! I was going to put my knife in between my teeth and dive down and get him but i remembered this. A guy was arrested at this same spot for poaching lobster. They fined him $50,000, confiscated all his gear, including his car, and put him in jail for 6 months.

Damn, if I was going to jail for 6 months I would want to go for something worthwhile like conspiracy to have Freedive slayer gay gang raped not for lobster. I hope that at least they let him eat the lobster before they put him in the slammer. :D

That poor bastard has been through the ringer. I think he was just laying there thinking, "Please, Rick Dawg, shoot me for God's sake!" :D
