Have you looked into deeperblue.net? There are lots of spearos from Europe there who may know more. Hope it helps!

I was stationed there when I was in the military years ago and the diving
is good. Its not very populated and not many people do it. There was
lobsters but you can not spear on tanks but you may free diving.

It is probably similar to the rest of the Mediterrenean. Really deep dropoffs, clear water and skittish fish. Trophy fish are dusky and comb groupers, dentex, amberjack and european sea bass. Let's not forget about the sea bream (similar to pinfish/small sheepshead) and the elusive mullets and chubs. :D
Odds are that if you do not have any local help and cannot go past 70 fsw, you will probably not spear much. It should be nice diving though :thumps: .
