Diving with bananas 6/14

[Look Out Below]

I needed my nitrogen fix so we decided to check out some new spots for the up and coming lobster season. Bad English, Reeftails, Bottomdwell and I start to run out of Sebastian when this happens...

Ended up being one bank of the throttle bodys are stuck. Some a little lube and an hour later we are off.

It's a little bumpy on the way out but once we got there (105') the water turned to a lake. I need a quick drink of water when I opened up the cooler, and low an behold look whats in the cooler! Freckin bananas!!! WTF Reeftails slips them in the cooler without me seeing them. :hammer: No wonder the motor breaks at the ramp...

Just for that Reeftails and Bottomdwell are the first to drop. Well up they come with a nice stringer. 38 lb and 24 lb gags... :thumbup:

Vis they say was 8' to 10' max with bottom temps right at 57 degrees. That's cold!

Next drop is .30 miles away, new ledge so Bad English and I are down for the count. Dozens of big sheeps are near but we where looking for the fatties. Under one of the ledges I spot 4 sheeps and a rather large tail, yup and nice 29 lb gag I string up...

[Look Out Below]

Third dive (Reeftails and Bottomdwell) was only .30 of a mile away and up comes an assortment of gos and sheeps.

Bad English and I deside to hit a ledge in 85' thinking that a little shallower might be cleaner. Wrong! 5' vis max.

We run back out to the 105', Reeftails and Bottomdwell hit it and bring up another 23 lb gag with a couple of gos.

Well the flat line goes out and not 2 minutes POP fish on! I push everyone out of the way and snag the pole. :P Up to the boat bad English sticks the gaff in this 18 lb Dolphin...

One last dive with Bad English and Myself, by now I'm freezing MAO on the bottom and Bad English bags a nice go. That about does it for me 1000 psi left but I couldn't feel my finger tips, so up I come...

If the season for lobsters are as good as what we saw, stay tuned for a mother load... ;)

Impressive mess of fish - especially considering the bananas! We are seeing lots of lobsters down this way too.
