I have seen a couple of people asking about where is the best places to grouper dig.. lots of boaters have a problem finding some nice fish, especially when the water is warmer.. I suggest north of Tarpon Springs all the way up to and even north of the Swauanee River.. I like to start in 30 foot out of bayport, and fish out to 55 feet or so.. Most of the area's I fish on are rock piles and not ledges.. Most are 2 foot or less, so its pretty important to keep your bottom unit on "Zoom" or you might pass these rock piles up without even a look... My prefered bait is of course "Sardines".. and live bait.. However I found out that once your on the fish that the dead bait does as good as the live, and somedays even better than the live bait!! Also a little secret about using sardines is try putting some "Anise oil" in the bait bucket and let it soak in.. I have seen days where they want nothing but the sardines soaked in this anise oil.. you can get it in the spices area in publix or Wal-mart.. its only 2 dollars for a jar, and I pour the whole container right in my bucket of bait with water so they can soak on the way offshore.. you might keep two buckets of bait seperate, so you can try using bait with the anise and some without the anise oil.. ususally they both work about the same, but somedays they want NOTHING BUT ANISE OIL SARDINES!!! Strange, but true... Good luck grouper digging, and we will all be catching more grouper because they are about to start their mirgration closer to shore, and for me that is a Big Plus in my grouper digging adventures... I dive in the summer and rod and reel in the winter.. I am into spearfishing big time, and have as much fun diving as I do rod and reeling... I also love to lobster in the keys.. we had a great season this year, keepers were EVERYWHERE .. Here is a pic of those tasty babies..

I took care of it, RR. Didn't see it until this morning, unfortunately. I think he was showing us a self portrait. This is the same idiot that was causing problems over on FS. Now he's over here trying to cause problems by posting sick photos.
