Thanks for the nice pics and info. It does say alot for our landlocked breathern and it shows that people miss a 'best' part of creation when they don't 'look' around underwater.

I've recently learned that we can freshwater spear for certain species here where I am. I'm in Virginia, but in MD, I belive, you can take bream in freshwater and in West Virginia, suckers and carp (which I wouldn't anyway), and catfish, what I'd really go for. I'm in the process of compiling a list of the freshwater spearing regs - or not - for all 50 states for future reference.

Awesome! I look forward to seeing it. I'm sure a lot of divers will find that to be a useful reference.

Hey Mako, you probably already saw this, but QUETZAL is doing something similar over in the Regs section and has all the pdf files of the 50 states DNRs. Granted, you still have to look for them within the file, but it should make your search a whole lot easier.
When you get done, be sure to let us all know, as I'm sure this is something that just about everyone will be interested in. Everyone who lives inland that is. :thumps:

Crab,
I'll throw it out there when I finish with it, and you guys can take what's useful from it. How's the spearing in Maui these days? I was there several years ago, just went diving, though. Still, gin clear water is addictive :}
Cobra,
No, I didn't see what QUETZAL was doing, but that'll be quite useful, too. So far I've got VA, MD, NC, WV, DE & NJ, locally from where I am. I'll also add saltwater spearing regs too, if it's a coastal state, for everyone's reference.
