I'm surprised I don't see more 3/4" Bands out there in use by the serious freeshafters.

The power for a single band is superb on a freeshaft! It really nails the long shots. 35 to 40 feet is possible. The rubber also never breaks. I like the thicker grip it provides as well.

Most of my buddies and I have been using them since somewhere around the late 90s when the rubber first showed up. Biller and Marine Diving both got in 3/4" rubber but had trouble at first with reliable wishbones. They kept snapping under the load. Biller finally solved the problem with a beefed up wishbone that has a bevel filed in it to fit the spear notch. They are now stock product but only a few dive shops are aware of them. They are in the price list, but not the catalog. I disagree with their size recommendation, however. As on the 5/8" bands, I recommend moving to the next size smaller band. I use the 26" band on my 54" Seahornets, not the recommended 28" band... if you want it really powered up! (Unless you have an injury.)

Give one a try, you might have to special order it but you might just get hooked!

I can barely get the 5/8" band to slide through the muzzle of my gun, how do I get the 3/4 through?

He has a SS commercial with dedicates holes for each band. There's not much room in there for a bigger band.

Use dish soap to get them in. Be sure the band is centered when you install it (the same amount of rubber on both sides).

I have been using 1 3/4" band on my Riffe's for quite awhile, also have 2 5/8" bands on it also.

On my gun the band is supposed to be 24" long, Jay said to use a 26" band when using the 3/4", my other 2 bands are 24" long.

When I freeshaft I usually only use the 3/4" band.

It works real well, they really aren't that bad to load when you get used to it.

I have some 9/16" bands that came with the guns and use them as spare's, they are reall easy to pull back, now that I am used to the 3/4" fatties.

I like smaller, multiple bands, because it gives me more power options. My gun currently has three 9/16"x24" bands and a helper tab on the shaft. With this combination I can load all three bands and have an effective range out to 15+ feet, line shafting, or loading a single band on the helper tab I can shoot into a hole in the reef without worrying about jamming my shaft into the rock so hard it isn't coming back.:)
