I went to sachest point on Saturday but the wind and the water were a little crazy for me.Anyone spear there recently,do they give you a hard time at the park.I have never speared there.I usually go to ocean drive, but to many surf casters. On saturday at the point I noticed a guy was walking on the grass and some old dude told him to stay on the path,I hope they don't give me a hard time when they see me in my gear carrying a big orange float :D

RIT,
There is a sign at Sachuest Point that requires divers to transport their spearguns encased. This may seem like an inconvienience but it indicates that spearfishing is a ligitimate pursuit on the refuge. There are marked entry points for ocean access. Follow these two guidelines and the staff won't give you a hard time. However some of the bird watchers think they own the place.

Thanks for the info. How is the surf casters on that end, especially on the weekends? Where's a good spot there for some tog's.I noticed there were a couple of large rocks off to the side away from shore. Also are there any stripers at the point (legal size of course)I have only been to ocean drive to spear, any other good spots with parking for shore diving(Bristol, Tiverton Westport or any thing closer to Pawtucket the better the commute sucks to get to newport.
