Bass and black fish are in. they are in their early season places in good numbers. Bass are mixed sizes from 15 to 30 inches and most of the black fish are keepers. So go jump in the vis was good and should be great diving all weekend. :thumps:

Where did you go? Boat or shore? We were thinking of hitting off the RI coast this weekend from shore...

Hi, just getting caught up.

Went diving at Kings Beach in Newport. It was a really nice sunny day, the vis was 30 feet! Tapered off to 15 later. My D3 showed 53 on the surface 42 on the bottom? I was toasty warm in a 7mm. Shot three nice tautog, didn't see any bass or baitfish or much other that tautog and of course....CHAUGGIES!

My dog ran in the water and grabbed my dive flag and dragged the float and stringer up on the beach...funny to see.

My wife cooked up 1 fish by stuffing it with herbs and oranges lemons etc, wrapped in tin foil and threw it on the grill. It was awesome. One fish was filleted and saved, it tried cutting the third like steaks and marinating with dressing...haven't tried it that way, looks good though!

Put a rudder on my scupper pro $$$ ouch. Made a body stringer to get away from the hoop on my float.

Buzzard's Bay Dive Center is having a cobweb dive at Sandwich Beach this Saturday. Good cookout afterwards.

Anybody else been diving?

weakfish are in the bay so it looks like this might be the time for a shot at one. they were last spoted up in east greenwich. so the should be moving to huntable waters soon as things warm up.
