Hola!

Its me again. Well just got back from another trip to the islands. Here go the stats.

Water temp 66-67
vis Day 1 5-10 feet, Day 2 10-15 feet
Wind Day 1 20-40 mph from the South, Day 2 15-20 from the west

On the first dive day we put the boat in the water I had an engine problem at the ramp. The water pump seal at the berring went out an blew water all over the place.

It looked like the worst, bad wind and no boat on the first dive day. I pulled a favor card and borrowed a 24 foot panga with a 60hp yamaha and went for it. We picked a spot on the shore before the islands. the wind was to gnarly to try and make it past Huerfanito Island. We found a somewhat shelted cove and anchored. I had two divers in the water and it was pretty low vis. I was thinking that it would be a bad day when one of the group yells.."I just spooked a huge grouper in two feet of water!!" I knew if there was one there would be more so we stayed there. To my happiness one of our group nailed a real nice Lepoard grouper. I was kind of suprised because the vis was pretty bad, and the fish where very spooky. I managed to shoot nothing at all, nor did the other diver who spooked the big one. The day was not a total loss with the big lepoard though. Here are some pics.

Day two was better. Naty my trusty partner had gone all the way to Mexicai to have the pump re-built and re-installed before the next day and we where able to get to the islands. We also had less wind. Still pretty bad around Huerfanito but makeable. We found a sheltered cove and got in.

We managed to get some healthy stringers of nice yellow snapper. These fish are so great tasting, to be honest I like them better than grouper.

That night we ate like kings. We had the Chefs signature Philidelphia fish with a Lobster tail prepared with red sauce. for an appitizer the chef made us some soup with the fish bones, it was freekin fantastic.

Ill load up some more photos as soon as I can. Despite the problems with the boat and wind we still managed to have a pretty good time. And I got to dive with another spearo brother and learn a few new tricks.

Well Ill see ya in the water.
