Belize

[LA Diver]

I will be heading to Belize on Thursday May 11 and coming home on May 18. I will be visiting Caye Caulker and Ambergris Caye. I would like to bring my guns and freediving gear to do some spearing. If anyone has any input on spearing in that area please PM me. I have never speared internationally so I dont know who I need to get with to hitch a ride to the reefs so any input will be nice.

You won't be able to use your guns.....only locals are allowed that discretion....beautiful area! If I had a choice I would retire and buy some space on San Pedro Island......:D

There is a huge nurse...out on the lower reef of the reserve...the locals will be able to tell you able her...biggest nurse I have ever seen....she will usually be under a 4 ft. ledge... on the 2 nd ledge 15' from the sand...have fun!

Went to the Belize site, good luck finding the regulation. I couldn't find it. It would be better to just have a clear statement per country. Yes you can spearfish, more info click on this link. Good idea just not much of a timesaver.
