Had to run LPs back to shop Fri as they were @2000psi,new tank boy.Saturday the Mayport ramp is full of Kingfishermen for a tourney, many are clueless. We head 18 miles offshore,90' the vis was around 5' and no fish(like you could see'em)Do 2 more dives ater hitting at least 10 spots in my loran and as many in my GPS finding each occupied by divers and bottom bumpers.Do the twin barges at NM nothing for me ,crew gets flounder.Next is a big pile of bridge decks and concrete, crew gets more flounder. At the end of this dive, after being in the water over 2 hrs total I have not taken my gun off safety.Last 5 minutes in the dive I find a 4/0 Penn on a Silstar rod, needs a rebuild but better than a empty stringer. So far I don't like spearfishing as a 40 yr old.Ran home past storms at 28kts.Vis 30' ,thermocline at 50' 69degrees.

 At least you got out...Like blue gun sez - It's always good when you're diving, just some days are better than others. Right on. My Daytona wreck dives for today on the Sea Dogs got cancelled, piss poor vis. Head buttin' a Liberty ship would suck.

We ran north and stayed in close. Never got over 75'. Thermocline @ 30'. vis 40 underneath and cool( not cold). picked up grouper, flounder, seabass and sheepshead. Saw a STUD grey(I'm guessing 50+) but never could get the shot I wanted. While trying to get into position for the grey a 30+ lb red snapper sow showed up(always just out of range). My heart was POUNDING- really exciting eventhough I never got a shot on either of thoes two. Nice to know I can still get excited by a good fish!

Sea Dogs had a report of about the same same... thermo is still around. Not so bad, but would be better if the vis would improve to at least 30ft or so that woulld make me happy.

I have to agree. Hunting fish is better than working. Putting them in the cooler is better. Have a great one.
