i went out if st. lucie tuesday..the bottom temp was between 50 and 52 surface low to mid 60"s..it was so cold that there were snook and jewfish laying on bottom motionless..my brother said on one of his dives he was holding a snook in his bare hands and on another there was a jewfish laying there that lokked like it wasnt breathing........ups for the day my brother got his first warsaw in 95 ft of water..i couldnt beleive it i was amazed..just wanted to see if anyone has ever felt anything like that.

the fish are lethargic.

Around here a few years ago we had an upwelling from wierd weather forcing a strong offshore current. That water was near 55°, crystal clear, but had effectivly NO dissolved O2 in it. It killed almost all benthic life from Panama City to the mouth of The River. Shelling was good for a few years, and eventually the life reseeded.
