View Full Version : Texas Gulf Coast section

In past months, I have heard several comments in favor of the addition of this new section in the Regional Shooting Reports. If you look at the attached Google Earth Map you can see that the area covered is a very large piece of coastline that is not properly addressed in other regional sections. Therefore, the Texans have a new sub-forum on Spearboard! :thumps:

Welcome Texas brothers and sisters! :thumps:
Thanks Tony, for making it happen! Spearboard is awesome! Where else could a damn Yankee gets so connected into the world of spear-fishing in such a short time? By the way, normally, the term Yankee is usually referred to in a derogatory sense,? I am hoping it is more of a personality trait than that of a geographical location

The term "Yankee" is typically reserved for anyone who lives north of Dallas! :D

I was always told that "yankee" was anyone who lived north of I-10. :D

My bad, I stand corrected. Yankee is anyone who lives north of I-10 or one of those countries north of Dallas! :D

And you're a Yankee if you come here and return to "from whence" you came...
You're only a damn Yankee if you come here and STAY!!!

Remember the grid lock that occurred in Houston at the approach of Hurricane Rita? Well there was an investigation into the existing evacuation plan and it had one critical flaw. The plan was as follows:
First, all the yankees that live in Houston, take 45 N and go back up north where you came from.
Then, all the Cajuns that live in Houston, take I-10 E and go back to Louisiana where you came from.
Then, all the Mexicans living in Houston, take 59 S and go back to Mexico where you came from.
All the native Texans living in Houston, take I-10 W and head for the Hill Country
And then the critical flaw in the whole plan was all the Aggies going round and round on the 610 Loop.
:D

Glad to see we've finally got a place to post. Now lets see some local pictures....
Also, is there a way to post short videos? I just got a helmet cam from the guys at hemetcamera.com, and I have some cool snapper shooting videos from the helldiver's tournament that I'd share if I could figure out how.

You really should bone them before you eat them... Eating them too fast could give you a "tummy" ache! ;)
We'll try to get some posted soon!

I think the "tummy" ache is from being gutted... that and lifting tanks...I don't know how to let a man take care of me...too independent!!!!
I survive on fish...maybe I was a dolphin in a former life...
Hey I found some new recipes for Ceviche...so it won't be too sour from grapefruits, and lemons...I cooked it too fast last time for you guys...I was hungry...I ate the first fish in the boat...

Well, I think that was part of the delay in getting in. We may need to just eat it on the way back in... :) We'll set a schedule... and then everyone can either dive or eat... ;) As long as we head back in with time to clean up, etc. (and clear the silted up river).

Whose going to take photos???? I will be freediving also...as I did last year.
Asturven, Greg, the Frenchie came up with beautiful fish....
The plan is now at Sea for photos to be taken. Then on the way in I will eat them...
I don't know why its that way with Texas spearo's bringing in HUGE FISH...they gut them before they bring them in the boat ...throw them on ice...my former spearo buddies were that way also...hunting for food.
Grabbed me like a shark underwater and shook me....that's why I'm so shakey  and have no guts...left...
AT LEAST THE GREAT PEOPLE IN FLORIDA TAKE'S PHOTOS :thumps:

I have not developed them yet..
You know I'm strong willed or Hard Headed...have gotten too independent. I love to dive, and hunt for food...but not very good in the Romance department (right now anyway)...I don't play with hearts..either.
Have a wonderful day!!!

Hi Texas Sticker. I live and work in Houston, but I do sneak off to matagorda on some weekends, and visit friends. I'm the girl trailering the boat in the red truck, at River Bend Restaurant. I was going to take the boat out this weekend, but its a little windy and cold. You guys can have it. Not unless I have a leather sofa to lounge on And some handsome man bringing me margarita's. See you this spring.

I used to keep my boat at the Matagorda harbor but I finally moved it over here this past year (League City). How nice it is......
