Last year was a good year, but my traps did not start really producing until it got good and cold out. I had one day where I got my limit on claws EASILY and one claw was as big as my hand, just the actual claw, not all the joints. Laid out on a typical dinner plate, it went from one end to the other, and well past.

too bad for the trappers but there are definitely a lot of crabs out there and some big ones too. i have been doing pretty good diving for them around bridges and rocks. think i might go get a tank and hit the new pass bridge today at slack tide.

i was out at lonboat pass about 2 weeks ago and got a few but it looked like someone beat me to it. saw a lot of crabs without claws, at least not legal ones. that was on the south side where its shallow, there are probably still some out near the middle and on the north side in the deeper water.
