Went out yesterday to DeGray and it SUCKED. Water was cold for this time of year and vis was around 4ft or less. After about 3hrs of not seeing anything I find a catfish box in about 3ft of water. ....... Wholly crap! Someones home. I shot a nice sized catfish through the head. I got a hold of it and swam it to the boat to put it in the ice chest and forgot to get my stringer. I return to the box to look for the male cat and a nice 4lb bass darts out and I gave it a quick draw and vis was so bad I didnt know I had hit it till I heard the old familiar sound of shaft floppage. That was all we got for the day but I was content with the cat!

I am hoping to get out on Ouachita this week. Been out of town for a while and the last trip to the lake was less than great. Found dingy water from about 10' to 40' and almost no fish. All fish I saw on the graph were very deep. 30 - 60' and suspended away from the structure. That makes it pretty hard to find them.

First thermocline was about 25' and a 2nd one at 40'. The water was clear, but it was pitch dark below 40'. Surface temp was 86 and below 40' it was just too damn cold to be fun. Without my hood just five minutes gave me a good headache.
