If anyone is interested, it is a waste of time. I've paddled that water many times over the last four years and the water was as good as it has ever been. While it's true that the "Armand Bayou Nature Center" is very scenic and tranquil, below the waterline, visability is approximately 6-8 inches right at the surface. It's a total blackout at 3'. The deepest hole I found was around seven feet or so at high tide. Bottom composition varies from deep gray silt in most places to hard black clay in a few spots. Wear gloves, get a tetnus shot and tell your family you love them before attempting to swim in that water.
There are some big gar there, many well over four feet. If you are interested in shooting one of them, take a recurve.
