I am trying to find someone with a boat to take me and my partner out spearfishing. We live in the Corpus Christi area and freedive spearfish only, but dont mind spearfishing with scuba divers. We appreciate any responces thanks.

You are in the Freediving Club is that correct? There are some boats that will take divers out. Really nice people too.

I'm in the same boat. I've been hitting the jetties, but visability is getting worse all week. I just started, but would love somebody to show me the ropes!

Dude, you need to hook up with 4reel on the thread below, but you'll have to register first. He freedives outta Port A every weekend and it runs like $50 a head.

What I would really like to find is someone with a private boat that is new to diving and is wanting someone that has been a Captian in Port A to show them some good spots. I have worked for my Dad when I was a kid, and have run a dive boat out of Port A for a few years. I have been diving in Texas for 18 years so Im pretty good at geting on big fish. The boat I captianed last year took top boat in Waldos with only two divers shooting. My self freediving and Skip Dominguez on scuba. I dont put much stock in turnament numbers but it does show that I can find fish.

How are you. Michael's boat is the best. What have you been up to, that you missed Waldo's. I missed it also. Let me know how you are doing. I miss being in Port A. and Corpus. Seems like everything is more relaxed on the island. I'm just about ready for an island getaway myself.

Did you check out the thread? It is a pvt boat, not a charter, just saying that cost sharing (splitting fuel and ice) usually runs about 50 a head. Were you one of the Orion guys at Waldos this year?

No I was at U.S Nationals in Florida during the Waldos shoot out. I dont dive or work on Orion any more due personal reasons. I have been to Florida three times diving and Pompano is the last place in Florida I will go sprearfishing in again. Very good diving but they dont have the fish numbers that the rest of Florida has. Me and Krystal had a good time though on the reefs. Lots of bull sharks in Florida we saw five while shooting the turnament. All you have to do is shoot your gun on the bottom and wait a minute or two and there they are. Just like trained dogs. The bigest one we saw was 10ft long and fat as a hog.

No Scubra I haven't had time to get set up on that sight. No computer at work makes it hard to spend much time during the week. I will check it out this weekend when I have more time.

Hey if you guys see me around stop by and say hello. I'm in Port A on the jetties from time to time, and take to boat out to the bays to try and drown some shrimp. If you see me don't be shy.

Wow Port A! That is where my family used to spend summer vacation when I was a kid.....good memories! I have been a displaced Texan overseas for the past nine years (Navy). I am supposed to be back in November and would love to hook up with a few spearos back there for some good ole fashion fish killin'. Don't know if I will be able to take the water temps in the winter. Bit of a change from the South Pacific!
