Went diving after work yesterday and had a blast. Top to bottom vis, Only saw one trigger but lots of tautog. I even saw a 4+ ft baracuda, first time for one of them. Only problem was all the people out there, but thats what happens when the water is warm and clear.

Awesome togs! Did you just swim out with a dive flag or kayak? I'm here in Greenville and every time I go to Radio Island it seems there are less and less fish. It is also crowded with scuba divers. I would love to find a spot where I could dive every now and then and accually bring some decent fish home. Again, nice fish - looks like a blast.

Do you live in Collington? That house looks familiar!

Just swam out last night, didnt want to load the yak. I live in KDH just up from the Kmart. I ended up with 4 tautog and one trigger, great for a few hours after work.

I guess you didn't want to go for the barracuda, huh?

He would have been an easy shot, just hanging out about 4' away for like 5 min. I just didn't want to deal with the teeth. Now why can't I see a cobia like that.

Were you at the Triangle wrecks or somewhere else? (feel free to PM) We went out today from the shore (because my outdrive took a shit yesterday) and got skunked. We were on another wreck than the triangles and saw nothing but about 1000 spot and a school of small blues. I live in KDH right near the schools/baseball fields.

That day was the triangle, just so close to my house, just stop by after work. The two big ones were in the same hole, shot one going in and then saw the other just sitting there. Where is the rock-pile?

Was just looking for info. Don't know of any specific rockpile, was just thinking that there had to be stucture if there were Togs.
I don't even know where the Triangle is, but would like to try it sometime. KDH is a pretty quick drive for me!

NC Fishboy,
I forget what Mile Marker the triangle wrecks are located off of now, but the viz is pretty sporadic as in good four or five times a summer as I recall. What is your experience with the frequency of good viz there?

The wreck is marked in the summer just off 2nd street about 6.5mp. The vis was good early season and then tanked for a long time and in the last week and a half has been good and bad. If the weather blows light east for a while is the best warm and clear. Around here good vis is 10' and great vis is 30' and ok vis is 5', those are the days that if the water is warm its still worth poking around looking for something. I just want to know what happened to the triggers this year, last couple of years they were all over the place, this year I may have shot 20 all year.

Viz was good toward the end of last week off the beach. Today was fair. I wish I could get my boat fixed to get back offshore, but alas trying to get a boat fixed in short order during the summer season is impossible.

I had great luck a few days ago at the triangle wrecks. Large school of sheepshead finally!
