Going out on a Truth Aquatics boat in August to shoot photos and do an article for Advanced Diver Magazine. What kind of viz/temps should a Florida boy expect(I've got a nice warm Telos 6.5 ml titanium that I use here for cave diving...plenty warm in mid 60's water temps (been in 68 degrees for two hours and was still warm.)Any other advice on California diving techiues are appreciated. I've been diving 30 years, only two dives (off La Jolla, San Diego, in '78) in California. 3000+ cave dives, lots of photography, tons of deep mixed gas stuff.....still willing to listen to the (experienced, competent) locals.
Thanks in advance,

I am a technical diver as well (mostly for the Sheriff Dive team) and spend alot of time in the water. I actually overheat easily and generally dive in a 6mm Hendersen Gold Core 1 piece with NO hood when I'm in Catalina. The water has actually been fairly warm lately. Not sure how it will be come August, but I went out surfing the other day in nothing but board shorts and was in the water a good 4+ hours. I freedove La Jolla 5 days ago in the 6mm and even after the first thermal cline, the water was still exceptionally warm. But again, like I said, I overheat easily. I know if I had your suit, I'd survive, and even it did get chilly, the hood would/should fix that.

Thanks for the ifo...
Now if I can just get Truth Aquatics to reply to and e-mail(?), I may be able to get this trip set up.
