This is a traditional spearfishing meet counting towards the North Atlantic Championship. The format is 1pt per fish, 1pt per pound, 16 maximum points allowed per fish. i.e.) a 30lb striper would be counted as 15lb max plus 1pt per fish total= 16pts. All R.I. fish and game laws apply, meet rules add two inches to legal size. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or go to our website for more info. www.rifreedivingclub.com

This is a traditional spearfishing meet using USOA national spearfishing meet format, one of three meets which make up the North Atlantic Championship (NY meet, R.I. meet, Mass. meet). This is a kayak based meet with a designated start and finish zone, although some people may swim it instead of using a board. The half hour travel time should be more accurately described as "paddle time". This is not a meet where a boat, car etc can be used to fish various locations. This meet is for the PT. Judith location only.

The boundaries are Cape Hatteras to Nova Scotia,.........in other words there are no boundaries for the meet. There is a half hour paddle time beginning of the meet only....meet starts at 9am,...competitors can start fishing at 9:30am.

T&S,
The conditions were not the best yesterday. What were the results? Any exotic fish?

The day actually turned out very nice. The conditions changed about 2 1/2 hours into the meet. No rain, the wind dropped and the seas layed down and turned out to be a very nice day. No exotics other than trigger fish, not much for bass either, mostly tautog, scup, 1 blue. I will post results.
