Alright you slayers, give it up! I'm hoping that I won't have to use the dry suit for Lobster season this year.
Sharing any current knowledge of conditions in your area will help many of us out. I'd hate to waste a vacation day.
Thanks in Advance.
Standing by.

dove some wrecks out of the port Monday it was high 50's with 2 inches of vis. I'm going only in the hope it clears a little. I've seen 5foot vis but never seen it this bad

I dove the Lubrafol (185') last Saturday. Bottom temp was 51. My hands went numb after 15 minutes. Viz on the bottom was 100' after passing through snot layer from 70-130'. Sunday tried the Empire (240fsw), but gave up because current was 4.3kts as per the GPS. Then dove the Maryland, but aborted due to essentially 0 viz.

Sunday in Ft. Pierce first dive the vis was 30-50' in 60fsw after you got through 15'-20' of whale snot! The bottom temp was 54.
Second dive same whale snot and bottom temp and 10-20' of vis.
Hoping it clears up for lobster! Right now it is too, too cold.:D

I think JB and the Sea Dogs have another tech trip on Friday morning to one of the deeper spots (not the lubrafol).. I dont remember where he told me.
So it's good you had a good trip even tho it was cold.

Had some friends go check out the dive sites for bugs yesterday. Got the phone call saying it was not looking good for mini-season. Vis was 0', but the water temp was a bit warmer than last weekends 54'.
Hoping someone else has a better report. We are all standing by waiting to see if we can go lobstering with a chance at seeing some bugs! :(
DIVE CONDITIONS
Reports from along the beach diving sites is that it is about 4 to 6 ft. of visibility, moderate chop, with very cold thermoclines, Offshore condition are poor with very very cold thermoclines, reported as low as 58 degrees, we had reports from Jensen offshore in 90 ft, depths, that the last 10 ft. at the bottom opened up with clear water side to side but the upper visibility was 'O' zero.
