Cap J.B. and crew went out this morning to check the conditions on our fav dive sites. Did not go out to the ledges, but went as far as the Semarca wreck (about 14 NM out). Had around 8-10 ft of vis and water temp in high 50's.

Moved into about 10 miles out on site and had a bit warmer water with low 60's and about 10 ft of vis.

So looks like it's still with us, but improving from last week just a tad. I think it's a matter of looking for relatively clean water.

Should this cold water keep the bugs away? What has it been like on years gone by when the water was like this?

Thanks Paul, I thought of oatmeal when I dropped to 70' on Sunday.

Anyone else have the skinny on the cold stuff and the bugs?

By far am I no expert, but up here, the lobs just seem to get slow as it gets chilly. We caught a bunch this winter and they are simply lethargic and really easy to catch. I did not notice a servere decline in numbers. Just an amatuers opinion in SC. Les@charlestondiving.com

Same story, the ones that are here are lethargic, but the females won't drop their eggs in the cold stuff..Think I'll head south!!
