Omni, I saw the black viper guns at the divers direct in florida city about 3 weeks ago. They had stacks of them on sale for $79 I believe. They were the 90cm models and I was thinking about buying one but I have a new Rob Allen and a carbon sporasub so I didn't really need it. I think that www.scubastore.com has them too. They are nice guns but they can be a PITA since the bands can be hard to find and on my sporasub gun, water is leaking into the barrel which is a PITA. I also stripped the thread on the handle where the screws screw into the handle to secure the barrel because I had to take the handle off in order to get the water that was in the barrel out :mad: . I have spent a lot of time tweaking the gun so that it works like I want it to but let me tell you, it now shoots sweet. Oh and I hate the sporasub muzzle. It is not very strong and the hole for the shaft is small so my shooting line crimps sometimes hit the muzzle and throw my shots off.

I checked out scuba-store and thier delivery date is unknown. Could be a week or 6 months.
Sounds like you are having alot of problems. I have a JBL 38special right now and want something longer and lighter. I pull the trigger on this thing and every fish within 30 feet scatters. Sounds like a tank. Plus It doesnt have that much of a range only about 2 spear lengths, after that it will not penetrate.
I got hooked up by tropicaldiver with a source for a used one. I will let you know how it goes.

I got the used one. But if you have something in the 75-90 cm range that has the green float up front "new style" I would be interested
