barbados spearfishing

continuation from st. vincent post:
I was just told barbados is like a 30 minute flight away from st. vincent. We could stay in bbados and my boss could just hop over to st.vincent for business. I think there's someone on here from bbados....what can we expect to find spearfishing-wise in sept/october. Vis/weather? Would we need to rent a boat or is there shore diving (I think I remember a post about shore diving). Is it heavily fished or still good stocks of fish? Dephts of good reefs (I can do up to about 70 but my boss is much shallower diver).Addtional info would be great. We'd probably fly in a thursday and leave sunday.

Suggest that you contact my cousin Robert Atwell on 246-427-6032, 246-233-2598, or246-253-4175.

He's a charter captain for hook and line fishing, but does a LOT of freedive spearing as well - mostly on the offshore barrier reefs in 40 to 70 ft of water....Occasional bluewater stuff as well....

Thanks flying bajan...If it looks like I can swing this trip I'll definately be calling him to get info. I've been wanting to go to barbados since high school to surf, but now I freedive alot more...if I can go I'll still at least bring a bodyboard too though.

hey flying, what boat does he have? sea has been so crappy inshore down here that i havnt shot a fish for 5 days, finger getting that twitch now.

brent, definately bring at least a bodyboard if your into surfing, or i could probly lend u one, if a swell hits while u are here, the vis will probably drop so surfing will be the best option.

His boats are Ocean Hunter (42') and High Seas (38')... Based in the Careenage. PROPER big water boats.

Dude... work up here is bulling me ! Hopefully in a month or so. I'll only be bringing the 100cm Euro Rife, leaving the big gun here probably.

Unfortunately it looks like my boss is gonna pass on the investment deal in the islands, so my chances for a trip out to bbados are looking slim. I was getting excited too. Thanks for the info guys...I'm keeping it for future trip!
