Nothing fancy, where could c.c. folks meet to have a few cold ones and cry about the rough gulf this weekend? Panjos at gulfway saturday night? It would be cool to meet some local divers.

BJs pizza is a good plcae, it has a good selection of cold ones. I will be spearfishing in Port Isabell this weeken but would be glad to meet up after work some time.

Oh I forgot I can't run over there and visit. It might look bad. :) but, I would love to do some freediving on the Port A. jetty's. Really don't want to go alone. Would be nice to have some Freedivng buddy's down that way. I love diving on the Jetty's. Most people would laugh when the saw a woman, coming out of the water at the very end of the Jetty's. It's a girl thing.

The wife's around here don't mind. They know I'm just a cutup. Its just a hunting trip, and I love to freedive. I also enjoy bowhunting...its a girl thing.

We're putting another Happy Hour together in Houston also. But everyone want's a place to bring in there spearguns and pneumatic guns, and Wongs. I think that's a great idea. Now If I can find a place in Houston, that will let us bring guns in.

Jetty's look like they are going to be dirty today maybe 4' vis. too much wind. Figures it's a lake all week, then friday rolls around and it's crap!

BJs is on SPID before Rod Field road. I don't know if they will let you take guns in, but you can have them in the parking lot. Frogmans dive shop in Port A has been wanting me to put on spearfishing class, but we have'nt had enough people to justify a class. We could see if they would be willing to let us use there class room so we can take all the guns we want.

I want by there 2 weeks ago...asked him if he had any spearfishing stringers....I don't think they carried them or any spearing gear that I could find. I'm at my sisters dog sitting now so I'm off Roddfield, let me know where you guys want to meet up...one's just a U-turn from the other.

Got your information. Thanks. How many do you need to justify a class? Like I said I have vacation coming up and might be able to come down from Austin. My son will be available in October also.

Make your own stringers. Get 5" stainless bolts cut off ends, sharpen one, drill hole in center for cable and.....Viola custom stringer. Mike Payne makes them. I'm more conservative, Heavy nylon (like outrigger cord) small loop one one end and large loop on other end. Only works for for snapper and the like. Anything with teeth comes up after being subdued!

I need at least six people to make a class. I just got the call that we are not going to Brownsville spearfishing. 3 to 5 ft seas this usualy meens 5 to7 coming in and out of the jettys. Aggie Dad if you get a chance go by Scuba Land and ask for John Lindsey. He is a good friend of mine that happens to be a Riffe dealer. he can get you hooked up with all kinds of extras that you will need. What kind of things would people like to learn if I put on a class?

Sorry to hear Isabel canceled, but not unexpected. It turned ugly Friday afternoon. I will drink some beers at BJ's from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday 8-27-06. I may get there a half hour early to get a head start. Come Join me, I'll buy the first 10 members a beer! :beer: I'll have a dive flag on my table.

Sorry I missed it. Was too busy working on the boat, gun, car, honey doo's, etc., on the rough weekend, to go on the computer till Sunday. You know all those things you put off because the seas are good?, it catches up to!

It was a joy to meet you guys last night. Remember the next stormy weekend we are going to meet at the Natatorium for fun before we go out to eat and drink. The pool closes at 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday, so maybe we could start at 4 PM. They are pretty easy going there and anything less of spearguns and knifes don’t seem to bother them :D . So bring your scuba and all the gear you want. Josh has an underwater video camera and I have a digital still that does up to 15 minutes of video too.

Bring the kids too. We can share gear and show you scuba divers a few tricks to holding your breath and freediving, plus my wife and two older girls love to scuba in the pool. :thumps:

Don good talking with you guys and getting some tips. Natatorium works good for me. I'm still waiting to hear back about this weekend, but it looks like it may flatten out. 48hour forcast shows 1-3's in the whole gulf. I'm probably gunna head to the jetties around 5 for an evening dive after work on Wednesday. I need to rig up a float line, I think I might head to some stores to see if I can get me some vinal tubing to make a float line.

The natatorium sounds good. My daughter is very excited about getting involved. I am still insisting she become very proficient at snorkling before
letting her get certified to scuba. Bug, I hope you are right about this weekend getting back to good conditions. Keep us posted on your Wednesday dive. That will let us know if the water clarity is improving. Park ranger told me this evening that still rough/murky near shore.

I'd be out there today if someone wasn't coming over to pick up my chopper I sold them to finance my spearing addiction. Tomarrow's looking good. I'm gunna put my suit in the car and leave right from work.
