Report for 7/27

Left yesterday from Mayport @0730 into FOG(in July WTF)got out with the wives to the 120' tug at MR 10' vis 75 on the bottom and 76 on top(yeah)Saw no shootable fish,but recovered a 3' Hooker anchor and 20' chain.Talk to Slipknot,they have beeter vis so we head that way.Fish a broken bottom area for SI and the anchor hooks another smaller anchor.We go to a ledge with culverts around it and same result,I pull the trigger 1 time on a teenage grouper at the back of a culvert full of shorts.One of the little guys spooks.......into my shaft allowing the only fish I see to boogie.The girls took lotsa pics and were happy so we considered it a dues day.Heard of scattered grouper being shot on the radio,and more divers than I've ever seen here X2.

Dove Sat 7/26 out of Mayport. Went to ss and hg vis was terrible and the water was COLD. Only did one dive- wasn't worth another.

After talking to 100-days me, slip and two newbies left PM and tried MG to find colder water and less viz. The water did look to have more fish but couldn't see shit so we went back to PG area to finish off the day. I did shoot a 27 lb jack for the crab trap in slipknots back yard.:D Stone crabs are gooooooooooood.

Sounds like lobster mini season is pretty much shot with conditions like this. Any of you guys going anyway? Is there still hope?

Looking at weekend after this for overnighter St. A. at drydocks, then to 120'/ stream for some tail / mahi, wahoo?
Might not kill anything but alcohol, but it beats being on land.:D

Tru-dat.....The only reason I work is to pay gas bill.Drydock area reef should be grouper/snapper land and some bugs too.

I cancelled for the mini season due to conditions. Probably going to work on finding old loran #'s and putting them in gps(only about 5000 left to go.)
