View Full Version : Photos of SpearMax Dive Boat Platform and Ladder

Roland has asked me to post detailed photos of my dive platform and ladder on my spearfishing boat. The boat is a 26 foot Goldline with a custom pilot house and a 350 horse Caterpillar diesel inboard. The platform and ladder system was built by my friend Ed Pence who is a master welder. The cost was around $1,500. A really nice feature is that you can come right up out of the water while keeping your fins on. The low freeboard on the boat makes back rolls a breeze. The grab bars make it very easy to get back in the boat. :cool:

Very nice, Tony!! That style ladder is great for the reason you cite: you can climb it with your fins on.

That is a nice looking setup, how many divers can you put on your boat?

The main thing I like about pivoting ladders is, when you forget to put them up, you don't rip them off of the boat.

:stupid: Exactly! I can run full speed 30 MPH with 4-6 divers and if we forget to pull up the ladder, it just skips on top of the water. :D

Hey! If we run the Holy Spear-It at full speed, our ladder just skips on the water also! :D
