Can anyone give me a vis/temp rpt for the upper keys? A bunch of us are going down this week and next week. Are you suffering any of this cold dirty water that's hitting the rest of the E coast?

was up off key largo yesterday, temp was in the 85-88* range (acuratly measured using a $2000 temp/salinity/ph meter). we stayed mostly on the inshore patches and a few on the top of the outter reef tract (nothing deeper than 25') and a few of the sights that were only 10' deep had about 30' vis, while the slightly deeper ones were upwards of 60' vis.
so it is pretty nice...not perfect...but nice
middle and lower keys report should be later this week or next

Keezdiver--thanks for the report, glad you gus are not having the stuff we're having in N.E. Fla.. It was like this three yrs. ago. but it only lasted a week or so.
Oh Well, I understand hurricanes don't like cold water--at this point I'll take any silver lining from this dark cloud!

I'd say that at this point you can count on at least 40' vis from Marathon south.

i was off Looe Key spa yesterday, there was a nice reverse thermocline out there. 2 dives in about 30' and one on the edge of the reef at 75' and it was nice and warm on the bottom. we had easily 45-50 in the shallower sites, and the last site in deep water was 70+...very nice
