If you want to save a little $$$ get a place north of the island. It's a really short drive from say Texas City. I would advise you to make your reservations yesterday. Have fun dude! It's a pretty sweet rally.

if you want a nice place to stay check out Kemah or League City and Webster. It's a 30 minute ride from galveston, but you're much less likely to have your bike stolen from those areas. I used to live in the League City area, and I wouldn't park my bike in galveston much less a 10+k motorcycle!

Thanks for the advice...I was kinda wondering about bike theft over there. Guess I won't even bother staying in Galveston.

As a kid my dad rode a motorcycle and we always slept in tents or on the ground so your motorcycle was near by and you didn't have to worry about people stealing it.

Yeah, Galveston is a ghetto, a dump. Stay in League City. Make sure your CHL is up to date. Stay in condition yellow.

They don't even have a dive shop there. Sheesh.....

Galveston's not a dump! Stay in a nice hotel on the Seawall in Galveston. Its on the beach.

Huntress I was down in g-town probably 150 out of 365 days surfing and fishing. I can say without a doubt it's a dump. Even the "nice" hotels on the seawall have bums that roam the seawall at night. Autotheft and violent offenders target tourist and the strand area. If it weren't for the numerous crackheads littering the streets, or the ghetto thugs roaming the seawall I'd say sure stay where you want. The only way I'd park my vehicle overnight there is if I was with a large group of surfing buddies and my xd45.

News to me. I haven't been there for over a year. Must be after the hurricane.. ;) Shame :( I think maybe that started after the Hurricane K.

ClearLake, Kemah is a good place...but I warn you! Its a
"party town". Go visit the Turtle Club while your there. Its a floating club, where all the boaters hang out.. Boat parties....and you can play on the boardwalk...take 45 into Kemah & Seabrook...I believe its 45 isn't that right guys?? I'm not a 'biker' girl but I'm a boat girl. When you get to Kemah, call me and I'll buy you a "Cold One"

It was a dump a year ago, it was a dump 10 years ago. Treat yourself to good times and stay in Kemah.
