Hi,
I would like to invite everyone to check out the new kids on the block, Orange County Hunter. We classify oursleves as a waterman's hunting organization located in South Orange County. What makes us unique is our mission, we use what tools the ocean calls for that day in order to maximize our hunts. If the surf is going epic we surf with the proper board, if it's 50ft+ vis and the yellowtail are running we use the proper speargun and freedive ect... Instead of being concerned with tournaments and club records, although we will plan on having a few a year, our main goal is to travel and see the world via the coastlines, becuase after all what makes a good waterman is being in the water.
With membership into Orange County Hunter the member recieves a membership card that has purchase power. Our current sponsors are beach cities scuba and Doheney Board Center, both offer 10% off. So with a decent dive package purchase a member of OCH gets their membership fee, $40, back. Furthermore we offer member pricing on travel, currently we have a surf charter to the Channel islands, the ranch and Todos Santos for $100 for members and $125 for non-members (max 4 people). This weekend we have a chartered trip to San Clemente Island for only $95 per person (5 people max, freedive only!).
Furthermore the local diving as been horrible, I think our mission statement is dead on for the area we reside in because not everyone can get out to the islands every weekend but still wants to be in the water. We can surf in green water, and for you divers who have never surfed a 10ft+ wave, it is just as big of a rush as landing a 50lb yellowtail. Which leads us into our other aspect of OCH education and learning from one anothers talents... Please visit our website and I hope to see you at our next meeting
