How is the water right now? Vis/Temp? I'm planning to make my last trip of the year down there this weekend...Anyone dove in the last couple of weeks? Any info would help...thanks

Hi 55Kg,

I was at Beaver last weekend. The water temp was 66 degrees. I was in close proximity to the dam and the vis was unbelievable. I started out freediving and at 35 feet, I could look up and see the surface. Horizonal vis must have been 20 feet or so above the thermocline. The thermocline is now about 48 feet and about 7 feet thick. The Horz vis at 55 feet and below was incredible - probably in excess of 30 feet, just a lot darker.

I had a school of 6 Stripers buzz me twice while laying in the milky layer at the thermocline (50') I decided to not shoot one as they were small ones in the 10-15 pound range.

The bass and Catfish were dispersed and I saw these fish in various depths.

thanks, I stopped by C& J's bought a sweet hat...tried to jump in somewhere down mundell road??? but it was really dirty...and a little tooo cold...but then went to the damn and it was real clean but still too cold for me to even hold my breath!
