Roberto, you have made a very good favor to me, I'm a very good friend of Martin, he used to leave here in Dominican Republic, we were spearfishing partner at Salinas, but lost countac after an accident he suffered, doing Kitteboarding, and went back to Argentina.

Jochy Miranda.

Glad to be of any help.
he will be happy to hear from you.
I went to Salinas a few times, the gun he was using,
the big JBL , I gift it to him.
It was a pleasure to meet him, very honest hard working guy.
Incredible thing about internet, we make friends for life.

So..............you are the great spearfisherman, friend of Garret.
Amarillo told me about the JBL and you. I made countact by e-mail, and told me he is planning a trip to Salina next year.
Thanks

Rob,

Where is your friend, in Buenos Aires? That's way too far from decent spearfishing in Argentina, whereas Puerto Madryn is the best place. But it's 1400 km (yeah, big country, man) south of the capital.

I've the excellent contacts there. Let me know if he's interested. One of them, BTW, is the fellow in the photo, with the most sought-after fish in Argentina, salmón (not related to the salmon), the Austral sandperch. He's Germán Perez, the present top spearfisher in Argentina.

Those fish look alot like the grey tilefish that I have caught deepdropping. Not the same fish for sure but similar.

Yes, they do. We've tilefish here too (not Argentina), and sometimes they're sell tilefish (called batata in Brazil, meaning potato) as sandperch (called namorado here). Believe it, sandperch is better eating than tilefish. Along with snook and flounder, is the fish that fetches the higher market price in Southern Brazil.

He says,he does not know anyone who spears in that huge country, so anywere, anyone.
He lives far away from shore but anyone in his country is closer than anyone else here.Cordoba, en el medio del pais, lejos del mar ...
Send him an email Luiz, he is very interested in your post of german and others.
