No way, but I am still waiting for Alek Baldwin and few other Leftwing parasites to move out of the USA, like they promised to do if Bush got elected. Remember ?

I had totally forgotten about that but remember it fully. Unfortunately our political machine is full of nut jobs no matter which party you look at...and the media puts whatever spin they need to to drive raitings. At least we live in a democracy that lets all the nut jobs run for office and allows the crazy bastards who support them to speak out in public.
Maybe Alek Baldwin would make a good politician, he seems to have it down already...talk the talk but when it's time to pony up there's no doing. It's hard to tell if he learned that from the Dems or GOP.
Maybe now we can go back to spearfishing discussions and get off this political BS, it does get old and there seems to be a few here on the board who will not let this stuff go. Aren't there other websites for people who want to talk politics all day? If so, could someone post a link so that the resident GOP'ers, Dems and Indys who spend time waisting time on here debating politics could find another place to do it. Or, we could have a "let's exchange numbers so we can discuss politics" post. Or, "My Donkey can kick your Elephants ass" post or vice versa.

There is a simple solution for you. Just don't click on the threads. No one is twisting your arm and forcing you to read this stuff.

That's actually not a simple solution Bill. I, as do a lot of people, use the "New Posts" link to find threads that have had new posts made. It doesn't discriminate by topic so you have to weed through all the political crap to get to the good stuff. Maybe there are some settings I can change that I don't know about.

I use "New Posts" too, but nothing make me click on any given thread. I often pass on a thread about a trip in the keys for instance. Anyone could choose not to click on all threads in Off Topic, or specific threads in which the title clearly shows that its not about spearfishing. Just as I don't have to weed through topics on East Coast Florida spearfishing if I don't want to, no one has to weed through Off Topic treads.
If fact, if its in Off Topic, then its not about spearfishing. If all a person wants is spearfishing, then avoid anything in Off Topic and it will solve the problem.

Here is a quote that must be a favorite of Republicans now.
The people have spoken. And now the people must be punished.

Good point, now, let's figure out a way to keep this kind of BS from showing up under the new posts tab...do you have a simple solution for that? I do...stop posting the bullshit and if you're not responsible for posting then don't reply!
I am no longer responding to these after this reply I just wish someone would take all of the political thread BS and make it dissapear unless it is directly related to spearfishing. Thanks

Maybe Tony could have the techies come up with some alternative "New Posts in all but Off Topic" button so that no one would be tempted to sneak a peek at stuff he really doesn't want to read.
Of course then you would be missing other valuable stuff like recommendations for new mattresses, how to repair kitchen cabinets, etc. but a spearfishing purist shouldn't mind.

Getting back on topic, here are the first and last paragraphs of Maureen Dowd's column. I think she nailed it.
Poppy Bush and James Baker gave Sonny the presidency to play with and he broke it. So now they’re taking it back.
“Baker’s no fool,” a Bush 41 official said. “He wasn’t going to go out there with a plan for Iraq and have Rummy shoot it down. He wanted a receptive audience. Everyone had to be on the same page before the plan is unveiled.”
They don’t call him the Velvet Hammer for nothing. R.I.P., Rummy.

Bill,
I disagree with some of your views, but I have to agree with your point here. Just avoid Off Topic if you only want spearfishing. It is just that easy.
Doesn't the term "Off Topic" pretty much sum it up?

There is no way to make the Off Topic threads to not appear when you hit New Posts.
If you don't like the "Off Topic" threads, just don't click on them.
